The Early Career Animal Welfare Researcher of the Year Award is an award that recognises the achievements of scientists at the early stages of their career, who have made significant contributions to improving the welfare of animals.
The winner of this award will be presented with £1,000 and an award certificate.
How to submit a nomination
This Award is open to students who are currently studying for a doctoral degree and to individuals who are within six years of the end of their PhD work.
Nominations may be made on behalf of another individual, or a candidate may nominate themselves.
The nomination procedure consists of three parts:
- A copy of the nominated candidate’s CV
- A nomination statement that describes why the candidate is being nominated, and details how this individual has made fundamental contributions to the advancement of animal welfare
- Two letters of support from well-established scientists in the field
Please note: Nominees must be aware that they are being nominated for the award. Organisations or institutions are not eligible to apply.
Nominations will be assessed by a Science for Animal Welfare Panel following the closing date. The winning candidate will be informed directly, and the award made public on the Science for Animal Welfare website and on social media once announced.
