Background

The SAWI Fund for the Promotion of Animal Welfare in Israel is a restricted fund, managed by Science for Animal Welfare The fund offers financial support for projects to promote the welfare of animals in Israel. Applications are assessed on their merits for animal welfare, their scientific quality (in the case of research applications), and relative to other SAWI applications received.

As well as research projects, the SAWI Fund also supports major, strategic, educational initiatives for animal welfare in Israel, such as organising international workshops and conferences as well as the preparation or publication of books.

How to apply

Applications using the online form are accepted throughout the year but will be assessed twice annually (deadlines 1 October and 1 April). For applications received by the 1 October deadline, the project cannot start before 1 January the following year.  For applications received by the 1 April deadline, the project cannot start before 1 July. 

Small research grant

Small research grants are for funding of less than £5,000.

Large research grant

Large research grants are for funding above £5,000.

Travel, Training and Other Events Grants

The travel, training and other events grant is for applications to support non-research events, such as attending or organising educational or scientific meetings, lectures, or courses.
