The Association for Veterinary Teaching and Research Work (AVTRW) is a network of approximately 300 members across the UK and Ireland, who teach and conduct research in veterinary and bio-veterinary science. Our committee comprises veterinarians who started their careers in practice, but have since moved into academia, research, and disease surveillance.
Our central aim is to support early career researchers and help the next generation avoid the “trial and error” learning we experienced ourselves. Our Acorn Award Scheme offers up to £1,500 for an eight-week undergraduate research project; the one supported here will focus on animal welfare.
