Our team
The strategic direction of the charity is set by the Senior Management Team who are also responsible for the day to day running of the charity. The Senior Management Team consists of the Chief Executive and Scientific Director, Finance Director, Chief Operating Officer and Research Director.

Meet our Trustees
The Science for Animal Welfare trustees are responsible for the governance of the charity. They meet regularly to review the strategic direction of the organisation, monitor finances and receive reports from senior management.
Emma-Louise Singh MCIOF (advDip) (Chair)
Emma-Louise founded Nova Fundraising & Associates Ltd in 2017 which helps small and medium sized charities shine through excellent and professional fundraising.
David R Sargan MA PhD (Deputy Chair)
David is a senior lecturer and principal investigator working in comparative genetics of inherited disease in companion animals in the Department of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Cambridge.
Corrie L McCann BSc ACA (Honorary Treasurer)
Corrie is the Director of Operations and Assistant Registrar at the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).
Professor Richard M Bennett BSc MSc PhD ARAgS
Richard is Professor of Agricultural Economics at the University of Reading and a member of the Animal Sentience Committee
Emily Craven MA VetMB PGCertVPS MRCVS
Emily is a clinical vet with a production animal focus, currently studying for a PhD at the University of Nottingham.
Jane Downes BVSc MRCVS
Jane is a veterinary surgeon who is Chair of the Pig Health and Welfare Council, former member of Defra’s Animal Welfare Committee and Chair of the Welfare at Slaughter group, a member of the Disciplinary Committee of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, and Chair of Food and Drink Qualifications Ltd (FDQ) which provides qualifications and apprenticeship endpoint assessments across the food chain.

Paula is an Executive Director at J.P. Morgan Private Bank in London advising entrepreneurs, ultra-high net worth families, foundations and family offices.
Dorothy McKeegan BSc (Hons) MSc PhD PGCAP
Dorothy is an animal welfare scientist and Senior Lecturer at the University of Glasgow.
David Pritchard BSc BVetMed MPH MRCVS
David is a consultant in Animal Welfare Science and Practice. David was formerly Senior Veterinary Consultant on Animal Welfare for Defra, UK.
Mike Radford OBE LLB
Mike is Reader in Animal Welfare Law and UK Public Law in the University of Aberdeen and a member of the Scottish Animal Welfare Committee.
